These Moon Musings are teachings that enable you to make sense of your reality by introducing you to deeper levels of your consciousness. For aeons of time wisdom holders have followed the phases of the Moon to guide their lives. Many plant their crops according to these phases knowing full well that when they do they create a bountiful harvest. In ancient indigenous cultures, when tribes lived as close open communities, the women would menstruate at the same time, according to the Moon rhythms. Prior to year zero our western world used a Moon calendar. The memory of this connection to nature is now being accessed for our modern world to use.
Many people around me are being forced to stare cold, hard reality in the face as they become aware of, and are learning to accept, that their dreams are shattered. Please know that, once you accept responsibility for your part in the situation, and have accessed and accepted your psychology that created it, something positive, uplifting and energizing will enter the place in your psyche where those false hopes, wishes and old self-destructive patterns of behaviour were formerly stored.
The illusionary dream drama is the effect of Neptune and Chiron in Aquarius and is cosmically orchestrated to enable many more people to awaken to the deeper truth of their subconscious ‘drivers’. The situations are different for each individual however the underlying psychological themes are the same. For those readers celebrating your 50th birthday this year these two planets are connecting to Chiron in your birth chart, the place in your psyche where you carry your deepest psychological wound. Neptune’s energy is dissolving the ego barriers you have placed around your mind and heart whilst Chiron is bringing healing energy to assist your awakening to higher levels of consciousness. It is the most wonderful opportunity to become conscious of your deepest wounds and choose to heal them, forever. Your life will change for the better as a result.
The agenda of the soul is to evolve into higher consciousness through self-awareness and self-actualisation and this takes precedence over the lower self/ego agendas. It is the spiritual way.
Mercury moved retrograde on the day of the Australian elections. Mercury rules all forms of communication and, when it appears, from Earth’s perspective, to move retrograde, communication problems arise. There was no clear-cut communication outcome from the Australian population as to who would rule our country and this may not be decided until Mercury goes direct on 12th September.
Until Mercury does move direct your Virgo analytical skills will need to be effectively engaged and fine-tuned. It’s also important to pay close attention to detail, especially when signing contracts. Make sure your communication is clean and especially clean up any emotional charge behind your communication. I love the adage “True communication is the response I get”. Response relates to responsibility. It’s important to take responsibility for the communication we initiate. The response, or reaction, we receive will demonstrate clearly how true it was.
I recommend you look objectively, and from a higher perspective, the facts of challenging situations in your life now and reconsider or review your plans where necessary. It would also be wise to sort out any relationship problems now because it may not be so easy later, when Venus, the planet that rules relationships, moves into a place of weakness.
Health and wellness are the focus with this New Moon so it would be wise to focus on healing not only your physical body, but also purifying your mental, emotional and spiritual bodies. This will hold you in good stead for your future. Any stinking thinking, along with the associated dense emotions, will adversely affect your body, mind and spirit.
The planets and signs act as archetypal forces within the human psyche. The themes and issues I mention below play out in both the individual and collective psyche and are indicative of the state of our world.
To assist you identify some of the themes that might arise at this Virgo New Moon phase I’ve listed some key words for the Virgo/Pisces polarity below:
Virgo isan earth sign; earth meaning all that is material and solid in our bodies and world. In the functional expression Virgo is: methodical, efficient, clean, pure, detailed, able to analyse and delegate, discriminatory, discerning, practical, grounded, orderly, precise, effective, a problem solver; into health, healing, work, small animals and service. In the dysfunctional: critical, judgemental, over-analytical, non-discriminatory, gullible, impractical, puritanical, perfectionist, hypochondriacal, unable to delegate, non-compassionate and collects useless things or information. Critical Virgo has high expectations of others performing to their exacting standards and can become bitterly disappointed when others do not measure up. Virgo, no one else thinks like you do! It’s important to outline very, very, clearly exactly what it is you want done and then leave the other to do it their way.
Pisces is a water sign; water meaning emotions and psychic sensitivity. In the functional Pisces energy is sensitive, compassionate, spiritual, psychic, ESP abilities, serene, gentle, calm, imaginative, artistic, reflective, dreams, loves music and being near the water. They have faith in their inner divinity, and/or in an external Higher Power and live life following their inspiration knowing their dream will come true in the correct timing. They are able to operate in present time, ground themselves and take the practical steps necessary to manifest their dream in the 3D world. They have learned to develop and utilise their practical Virgo skills.
Dysfunctional: addictive, fantasy, illusion, deceit, victim, escape, wafty, sees world through rose coloured glasses; wants to merge with another, places others on a pedestal, and is unable to discriminate. They can go into overwhelm easily, can become very confused, suffer from mental health problems and want to escape from the reality they have unconsciously created. They need to learn to surrender to a higher power their anxieties, self-deception, phobias, fears, self-sabotage and suffering, take responsibility for their part in their life creations and then choose to become grounded and operate in present time. It will aid their progress to create detailed daily “to do” Virgo lists every night before going to bed, and follow them through the next day. This avoids confusion and overwhelm.
Pisces needs efficient practical Virgo just as much as Virgo needs to allow the soft, feminine positive and uplifting expression of Pisces.
I’ll now review more of the horoscope for this Virgo New Moon to see what other cosmic players are aiding human spiritual evolution. There is a challenging aspect between Mars/Venus, still dancing together, and Uranus/Jupiter. These two cosmic couples are having an argument. Uranus/Jupiter want progressive innovative forward action that is for the greater good of humanity and our planet and they are becoming restless and impatient. This forward action requires the breaking down of old paradigms such as the over-emphasis on power, greed, sex, control and money that rampages throughout our world. Venus and Mars want new balanced action that will result in harmony and peace but may be uneasy about taking that risky new step into unknown territory. There are many new innovative ideas, concepts and inventions available but the consensus is afraid to take the new forward route because it requires a letting go of what is known. However, eventually Uranus/Jupiter will win out! Currently they have Saturn (the Lord of Time and Karma) opposing them, recommending they be cautious for a few months longer. It may not be quite the right timing for the new innovations to burst explosively onto the world stage. There may be a few more serious “wake-up” calls before humanity is ready to embrace a new world where goodness rather than greed, rules.
Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system and has an influence on spiritual/ religious beliefs. Jupiter’s placement in an individual’s chart shows where and how that individual will expand and grow into greater understanding and where they can develop meaning and purpose in their life. Uranus requires innovative change through the development of higher consciousness and objective self-awareness. It is from this place that the successful pursuit of humanitarian endeavours can take place. If enough people are willing to awaken to the truth of their subconscious self-destructive drivers, purify them and be willing to open their hearts to love then the collective will also wake-up to truth and a more loving state of being. Should individuals be unwilling to take this step then it is likely to be forced upon us. The great cosmic plan for the spiritual evolution of humanity is far more important than individual ego games and we are at a critical point in our evolutionary progress.
There is also a link between Mars/Venus and Neptune/Chiron at this New Moon that makes it easier to clearly and purposefully direct your energy into creating a new dream that resonates with your heart and soul and has at its base the desire for good. Inspiration can flow and your dreams can provide valuable information that you can use to aid your internal healing. I suggest you create a New Moon ceremony to symbolically plant the seeds of a positive, uplifting new intention for good into the fertile soil of your subconscious. Be willing to wait until the seed germinates and grows into its fullest potential before expecting harvest. During its growing season care for the seed well. Monitor its progress. Extract any psychological weeds that grow around it. The greater clarity you have when planting the seeds of your specific intention will be indicative of the type of harvest you receive. Your Virgo skills of detailed analysis will be needed so you can be clear and precise about your intention. It is then your Piscean dream can manifest in all its perfection.
